Our Fraud Protection Service is Improving!

At CFCU, we are committed to protecting your personal information so you can use your CFCU Visa® Credit and Debit Cards with confidence. We have an automated fraud detection service, called Falcon Fraud Center, designed to notify you when there is suspicious activity on your Visa credit or debit card. Having an automated service enables us to contact you within moments of the transaction, receive your confirmation, and reduce the risk of us authorizing additional transaction that may be fraudulent.

If possible fraud is detected on your account, you'll receive a notification via email, text message, and an automated phone call. If you receive a notification, please respond to answer questions regarding the recent card activity to avoid disruption of using credit/debit card. You can respond to the email, text, or phone call.

Here's how it works:

  1. When potential fraud is detected, you will receive an automatic email notification. The email will include the option to reply with "fraud" or "no fraud."
  2. One minute after the email, you will receive a text alert from text code 328-74. You can text back with the "fraud" or "no fraud" option. Just follow the prompts.
  3. If you do not respond to the email or text, the system will then generate an automatic phone call to allow you to confirm or deny fraud. The call will also give the option of speaking to a fraud analyst.
  4. If you confirm suspicious transactions as fraudulent, a Fraud Center Representative will contact you to help you protect your cards.

Remember - the Falcon Fraud Center messages will never ask for your PIN or CFCU member account number. Falcon will verify your identity, but will never ask you for your card number, expiration date of your card or the security code on the back of the card.

Please Note: The phone number for our Fraud Center has changed to 1-800-417-4592. If you add this number to your phone contacts and label it "Fraud Center," it will display on your phone whenever you get a call from this number.

Fighting fraud is a group effort. While we will do everything possible to protect your account, we need your help!

Keep Us Updated
To benefit from Falcon Fraud Center protection you must maintain current contact information with us including your current home, work, and mobile phone numbers and email address. When you move or change phone numbers, please notify us as soon as possible to update your information.

Notify Us of Your Travel Plans
Leaving Town? Let CFCU know! If travel plans are on your agenda, remember to keep us in the loop. This free service gives your accounts the greatest security while you're on the road.

Because CFCU is diligently on the lookout for suspicious activity, there's a chance we might decline an out-of-town transaction that isn't normal activity for you. We might also block specific locations (i.e. countries or states) or merchants for which we are experience high amounts of fraudulent activity. We apologize for any convenience and hope you will keep in mind that we do this to maximize your security.

By letting us know in advance that you will be traveling, you can minimize the chances that your card services will be disrupted while you're away from home.
